Common Dental Emergencies We Treat
Severe Toothache
Intense, persistent tooth pain that may indicate infection, abscess, or nerve damage.
Knocked-Out Tooth
A tooth that has been completely knocked out — time is critical. Call us immediately.
Dental Abscess
A painful swelling caused by bacterial infection. Can spread rapidly and requires urgent treatment.
Broken or Cracked Tooth
A fractured tooth can expose the nerve and cause severe pain. We can repair or restore it.
Lost Filling or Crown
A lost restoration can leave your tooth vulnerable and sensitive. We’ll replace it promptly.
Bleeding Gums or Mouth
Uncontrolled bleeding from the gums or soft tissues following trauma or spontaneously.
Broken Denture or Brace
A broken appliance can cause discomfort and affect your ability to eat. We can repair or replace it.
What to Do in a Dental Emergency
Call Us Immediately
Phone the practice as soon as possible. We keep emergency slots available every day. Describe your symptoms clearly so we can prioritise your appointment appropriately.
For a Knocked Out Tooth
Pick up the tooth by the crown (not the root). Rinse gently with milk or saline do not scrub. Try to reinsert it into the socket, or store it in milk or between your cheek and gum. Get to us within 30–60 minutes for the best chance of saving the tooth.
For Toothache or Swelling
Take over-the-counter pain relief (ibuprofen or paracetamol) as directed. Apply a cold compress to the outside of your cheek to reduce swelling. Do not apply heat or aspirin directly to the tooth or gum.
For a Lost Crown or Filling
Avoid chewing on that side until you’ve seen us.
